Life Transitions
"Tell me, what is it you plan to do with your one wild and precious life?"
-Mary Oliver"
Throughout life we experience many changes. We may be moving or getting married, starting a new job or having a baby. There are also negative changes such as a loss of beloved possessions, loved ones, relationships, jobs, health and youth to name a few. At the time of change, our life is in transition …. we are not the same. Life seems to take on a new perspective and we are in a state of shifting imbalance. However, in this time of life transition, as the result of change we grow.
As early as infancy we lose our mothers breast from which we grow in independence. Much like the young child, in times of transition we may experience anger, sadness, loneliness, fear, confusion, regret, love and many other conflicting emotions. Within this time of transition, we are actually grieving. We are grieving the loss of a part of ourselves. It is at this stage where we are presented with the opportunity to work towards a gift. The gift is the growth of our new self.
